An urban heat island is an area that's significantly warmer than surrounding rural areas because land development uses materials that retain heat – such as asphalt.
But rubberized asphalt's porous top layer cools down quicker than conventional asphalt, cooling our roads and diminishing urban heat island effects.
Industrial Feedstock
Liberty Tire's crumb manufacturing plants produce a wide variety of mesh sizes, with 30- as its finest sized material. Certain applications, such as those required to make automotive parts, paints and coatings, require a finer size. In addition to crumb manufacturing locations, Liberty Tire has several "feedstock" facilities that produce material for customers that turn the feedstock into finely ground powders.
